Property Overview

The Space(s)

1.) Main Level $500 per night. Three bedrooms with four beds. Sleeps up to 8.
2.) Main level plus Lower level combined $650 per night. Lower-level flat has Queen and King beds.

You have two leasing options – $500.00 per night for the main level (3 bedrooms/4 Beds – sleep 8 with 2 persons per bed).
For an additional $150 per night (total of $650.00 per night) you may rent the entire home (both main and lower level). See below for further description of the lower level as well as photos of the lower level.

From this listing you will see the entire house both main and lower levels. However, the $500 per night booking from this listing is for the Main level only and does not include the lower level which we normally reserve for our private use.

You can add the lower level apartment to your booking and enjoy the additional King and Queen beds, living room and full shower room by asking me to send you a special quote to add the lower level. The additional charge is $150 for a total of $650 per night. Most guests choose to add the lower level as it provides almost double the space. However this being said, the main level provides ample space for parties of 8 persons or less.

We have over 3300 sq ft of living space for the entire house. The lower level is a separate lodging consisting of a living room, full kitchen, full bath, sauna, and 13 x 18 ft room partitioned with vertical blinds consisting of both king and queen size beds. We normally reserve this flat for our personal use but can accommodate our guests who request the additional space.
We use hospital grade disinfectants in cleaning our entire home before guest arrival. All beds have duvet covers for comforters which are washed with bleach along with beds sheets.

Our reviews are split separately between our two Airbnb listing for this single property because of the lower level flat option. Be sure to check our reviews on the other listing.

Feel free to contact us with any other questions including modification of our five night minimum night stay.

Main Level

From the moment you enter, you’ll be captivated by the panoramic views & feel at home with the warmth of the natural materials. A blend of tongue & groove cedar wood on the walls & ceilings, along with touches of drywall, create a welcoming & warm environment.

The wall of windows & the grand natural stone fireplace invites you to step into the sunken living room to relax and take in the panorama overlooking Lake Bellaire. Spring, Summer Winter or Fall this incredible Lakescape picture will keep you coming back. The stone fireplace extends to the vaulted ceilings & is a handsome accent to both the living and dining rooms.

Whether prepping a meal in the kitchen, entertaining guests in the dining room, living room, or lower level, your attention will always be captured by the vistas. The kitchen enjoys cabinetry that was hand-crafted by a local artisan. People might even offer to help w/dishes as the views are just as stunning from there. There is plenty of space for more than one cook, & a side door allows convenient access to the surrounding multi-level deck.

The main floor offers three bedrooms, and two full bathrooms, large laundry room w/washer, dryer, wash tub & plenty of storage.
Bedroom One has queen size bed and one large window with amazing view overlooking a dramatic elevation drop of the surrounding forest.

Bedroom Two has both queen size and full-size beds with two large windows overlooking the valleys and woods that surrounds our home and also a lake view.

The Master Bedroom (Bedroom Three) enjoys plentiful closet space, en suite full bathroom & window door wall access to the deck so you can step out for a breath of fresh air. The views from both windows have extraordinary lake and forest views.

Outdoor Space

Imagine kicking back on 1400 SF of deck where you can peacefully relax while taking in the breath-taking views and panorama. Bald Eagles, Red hawks, deer, foxes abound …. a view that you’ll never grow tired of. Summit and Schuss Mountains in the distance east and the Torch Lake Cellars winery settled on a mountain top across the Lake from our home to the west. Wildlife frequents the property, so you don’t have to go far if you are a hunter.

Many updates have been made within the last four years, to include a new deck, water boiler, A/C, carpet & bathroom flooring. Additionally, there is an air exchange unit in the celling attic which efficiently removes hot air from inside house.

Lower Level (optional – additional space for rent)

Our second home in Bellaire Michigan has a lower-level stand-alone apartment which can be rented for an additional $150.00 per night charge. We reserve this space for our personal use in case we decide to get away to Bellaire from our down state home. We especially enjoy being up here for the Fourth of July fireworks, Labor Day weekend and in the Spring and Autumn seasons. We spend several months of winter in the Dominican Republic which is where my wife Mairelis is from. My adopted Dominican daughter on the other hand took to skiing like a duck to water and so we try to get back up to Bellaire for skiing at Schuss Mountain Shanty Creek Resorts for a few weeks in February.

On the lower level, you will find a good size family room, a full kitchen, large 13 x 18 ft room separated with vertical blinds with both king and queen size beds, full bath, & even a sauna. This lower level is separate suite. It can be used as additional guest quarters. The massive stone fireplace also accents the lower-level family room. Step outside to a lawn area with outdoor furniture to sit and enjoy the panoramic views of Lake Bellaire. The evenings are a good time to gather around the outdoor fire pit located nearby on this level.
There is a separate entrance to the lower apartment which we access from the rear side of the home when we have guests staying. There is also access to this unit from an interior door/stairway. This door is kept deadbolt locked for privacy between the two units.
Our second home is a perfect family getaway anytime of the year. Since it is our second home, you’ll find all the creature comforts that make for relaxed and tranquil living.

Things to do

Of course, there is lots to do in this exceptional part of northern Michigan and very close by. Swimming and boating in Lake Bellaire in Central Intermediate Chain of Lakes and Torch Lake all are just minutes away and these are just to name a few. Antrim county has more lakes than any other county in Michigan.

This is a wonderful place to spend the winter holidays It’s a most beautiful time of the year here. BUT ONLY IF you have FOUR-WHEEL or ALL WHEEL DRIVE. And have good tires as well. Most of the time snow is not an issue but you never know with mother nature. We use a reliable snow removal company but with this house you should have All wheel or 4 Wheel Drive to navigate the drive up and down the hill just in case of an ice storm. We have salt and sand barrels strategically located along our private drive for this situation.

The views during the winter are Icelandic which I find more beautiful than during the summer. You see the snow-covered lake under the moon and stairs night. Other than that, it’s almost pitch dark out there which is so cool because there is hardly any house lights around the lake during the winter. This is especially true on our side of the lake which is comprised mostly of wetlands preventing residential development along the lake waterfront. My absolute favorite time is Autumn when the enveloping forest literally explodes with yellows, reds and orange. Our home is positioned on top a hill which boasts the most breathtaking views of Lake Bellaire which are astounding all year round. It’s one of the most unique panoramic views that you will ever see.
